2007 is history, long live 2008! Where has the year gone? We’ll save the retrospective for a later post, but one tradition I’ve continued in recent years is taking a scenic walk on New Years Day to reflect on the past year and help clear my head with a fresh outlook for the year ahead. Its also a perfect excuse to stretch my creative side with the top 10 photos taken during the walk – enjoy!

During the May 5-7 weekend I had the chance to try out my new Canon PowerShot SD750 at High Park as the Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Sakura in Japanese) were in bloom for 2007. This is always a popular event attracting many people, especially the Asian community, since celebrating under the trees is a very auspicious symbol for new beginnings and good fortune for the coming year.
Here is a photo slideshow taken throughout the weekend – enjoy!

69stations.com is an excellent collection of nearly 400 images shot by David Topping (aka dstopping on flicker.com), a Toronto university student who spent the summer of 2006 photographically documenting all 69 stations throughout the Toronto Transit System (TTC). The images shine a beautiful and artistic light while breathing new life into what many of us locals treat as a mundane part of our daily lives – definitely worth checking out!
Today I had the urge to simply get outside – screw the work, forget the chores – my creative mind needed to roam free with camera in hand and enjoy the wonderful weather and all nature had to offer.
I began with the common areas with nothing too exciting until I ventured off the path and began to really explore and found myself deep in a new forest quietly tucked away in the heart of the city…
I am trying a new slideshow format that will adjust its size on the fly and is easy to use – simply click on the image (left/back or right/next). I hope you enjoy viewing the pics as much as I did taking them (my feet are still cursing me!).

Alright, now this is cool – a free stock images website … will have to give this a looksie!
