Tiger’s passing…

Tag: Steve-o-nismssteven @ 3:25 pm

Tiger the goldfish Today I awoke to find that Tiger, beloved pet goldfish for nearly 4 years, passed away today. Hope he’s enjoying his time in the watery world in the sky. He leaves behind his co-fish habitant, Scarlett, and a family of snails led by the renegade escargot Gozanlez II. Swim in peace little guy *sniff*

subway stations images
69stations.com is an excellent collection of nearly 400 images shot by David Topping (aka dstopping on flicker.com), a Toronto university student who spent the summer of 2006 photographically documenting all 69 stations throughout the Toronto Transit System (TTC). The images shine a beautiful and artistic light while breathing new life into what many of us locals treat as a mundane part of our daily lives – definitely worth checking out!

Zanta in Toronto

Tag: Steve-o-nismssteven @ 5:37 pm

Zanta pic I stumbled across this documentary about Toronto’s very own ‘Zanta’ – a character I’ve seen more then once in my area during the morning commute on the subway. As most people, upon seeing a man in a Santa hat, shorts and cowboy boots in the middle of winter I simply thought ‘what a nut’ HOWEVER an interesting 15 minute documentary shows a truer side to the man behind the character and how it all began. In essence, Zanta simply wants to spread smiles and laughter to all Torontonians in light of ever feeling upset over the loss of custody of his daughter. Misunderstood or mentally understated? You be the judge [ click to view ]. See a Flickr group dedicted to him here.

I like people to enjoy to see, a Torontonian – out there – doing something that no one has ever done before, and they’re just all loving it and what a feeling it gives me inside – its awesome.
