Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) ‘07

During the May 5-7 weekend I had the chance to try out my new Canon PowerShot SD750 at High Park as the Japanese Cherry Blossoms (Sakura in Japanese) were in bloom for 2007. This is always a popular event attracting many people, especially the Asian community, since celebrating under the trees is a very auspicious symbol for new beginnings and good fortune for the coming year.

Here is a photo slideshow taken throughout the weekend – enjoy!

Introspective at 11

I came across this quote just now-

Money is not everything to everyone. In the end we all die and all that remains is your memory – how would you like to be remembered?

Simple question with a potentially complicated answer – how do I want to be remembered? I know I’m getting tired of working day and night, especially when I’m nolonger enjoying what I do. Loss of passion, purpose and idealism is left with grudgingly performing mundane tasks for nothing more then some extra cash. Its just not worth it anymore.

But all the while, all the creative ideas and inspirations sit idle and fade away with time as there is no time to do these things – the things I DO WANT TO DO and be remembered by. Who is going to remember me for creating some corporate website that will get redesigned in a year anyway? Who cares that I updated a PDF file?

I don’t want to do things for the sake of making money – I’ve been putting off all I want to do for me for far too many years now…
